Technical Specifications & Design Submission.

Designs Specifications.

The folder to be e-submitted must be in compressed form and be named after the name and surname of the entrant. The name must only be in Latin characters.

Contents in Detail:

i) 3 Individual and detailed manufacturing designs (dimensions 420x297mm, A3)in PDF form

A .pdf page containing front view, side view(s), top view and back view, fully dimensioned in millimetres.
A .pdf page containing manufacturing details, cross sections and notes where necessary.
A .pdf page containing isometric views as well as a concise design of any parts which constitute the whole structure.

ii) One (1) image, either through photorealism, sketched or photographed, in .jpg format & 300.dpi resolution, sized up to 4MB under the name press-300, which will present the final design in full 3D view.

The same image must be also saved in the appropriate resolutions of the sizes: 124x92, 300x225, 420x315, 620x465 .jpg, which will be named after their relevant size as indicated bellow.

iii) A brief technical report in .txt format where the source of inspiration, the originality, distinctiveness and the suggested manufacturing materials will be described. This file should not exceed 150 words in length. The only allowed languages in which the previous can be described are Greek or English.

The digital folder containing all 3 .pdf files, 5 .jpg files and 1 .txt file, should be compressed in .zip or .rar format and submitted online through www.athensbenchmark.com to the “Host Authority”.

Design Specifications

The competition Athens Bench Mark is for new benches that will undergo industrial production, therefore it is neccessary to design benches with specific standards in mind.

Design aesthetics and harmony - the way it is implied by the central idea of the contest - in the relation of the relevant proposal with the urban environment.
Object ergonomics to suit not only the average user but as well the elder, disabled people ect.
Quality of materials and functionality
Innovative and sustainable design.

Inspiration

The competition Future Bench has no required design specifications. Designs will be the free creation of the artist. Benches will be exhibited in a major art exhibition called Future Bench.
