ATHENS’ NEW BENCH IS HERE AND YOU CAN MAKE YOUR MARK ON THE CITY

Winners of contest for Athens’ new bench announced

Athens Bench Mark’s Industrial Design Competition awards ceremony

The international competition of industrial design, intensely discussed and loved by the public, reaches an end. Hundreds of designers from all over the world submitted their ideas for the new bench of Athens and thousands of our website visitors marked the work of the participants before the evaluation committee. This difficult and time-consuming procedure has just completed.

Exhibtion Future Bench

The future is here!

To be more precise, the future will be for a whole week at Technopolis City of Athens (Hall Kostis Palamas, Peiraos 100, Gazi). 

Rightly understood: Exhibition Future Bench is the event.

On Tuesday, May 11th, 2010 at 8 pm we’ll be waiting to see you at the exhibition gala along with the 50 most popular entries voted by the public, the 57 projects selected by the evaluation committee and competition prize winners.

Extending the voting period for the contest Athens Bench Mark.

How many diverse ideas can come from a design competition? Too many!

Participation in the contest Athens Bench Mark had, as you can see, a great turn out from the quality and quantity of entries. Still, the troubling task of voting for which works will get your vote lies ahead.

For this reason we extended the voting period to vote for your favorite benches until April 18th, 2010!

Deadline extension of the Future Bench competition and other 'future' news!

Visualizing the future is not an easy job, especially when trying to capture your vision and present it to others. With that in mind, we’ve extended the submission period of the artistic competition Future Bench!

So every artist who wishes to participate in the competition can now send their proposal up until April 26th  while the public will be rating designs up until April 29th, 2010.

On April 7th the competition concludes - but the voting ensues!

We are extending the voting deadline in competitions Athens Bench Mark and Future Bench. Thus, people can still vote for their favorite benches until April 14th, 2010!

Athens Bench Mark: A creative web competition for benches throughout Athens sets out to help improve city life!

Athens, February 23, 2010: The City of Athens and the international non-governmental organization "The World of Athens" have joined forces to launch the global online contest called Athens Bench Mark in effort to makeover benches throughout Athens and improve the quality of life in the city.
